REVIEW: Burt's Bees Milk and Honey Body Lotion

Hullo Ladies,

I have had a few comments on my Burt's Bees Grab Bag haul about the Milk and Honey Body Lotion, there are a lot of people out there that seems to love this body lotion and I can see why :-)

It's a very light, thin lotion that sinks very quickly into your skin. Its non-greasy and definetley moisturising enough for my dry skin.

It contains: Milk, Honey, Grape Seed Oil, Coconut, Beeswax and Shea

This is probably the best smelling thing that came in my Grab Bag, it's a very creamy sweet scent when first applied and once it sinks into the skin it becomes even sweeter.

Recently I gave some to my mum to try and she picked up on the coconut scent straight away and it appealed to her, we both agreed that it's a very comforting smell :-)

I usually apply it just before bed and still smell it on my skin and clothes when I wake up.
As I'm a fan of sweet smells this is a winner for me, If your not comfortable with that kind of scent then maybe try looking into another Burt's Bees body lotion, they have a few different varieties and scents.

I have also noticed that this seems to calm the redness on my skin when its on so I'm going to be re-buying this once I run out.

The Burt's Bees website says that its 99% Natural but on the bottle it says its 98.8 % so I think this may be the original version (I shall look into it for you all) and lasts for up to 24 hours apparently, I don't know if its exactly 24 hours but it does last a great amount of time. On the website it's priced at £9.99 for 170g.

So it was definitely worth me buying the Grab Bag just for this product, although I wouldn't say all Burt's Bees products are great but they really have some winning products and for me this is one of them!

Thanks,
 Linzi xx

Edit: This week I received a set from Burt's Bees and it had another Milk and Honey Body Lotion in it but I smelt it and it was not as lovely as this one :-( the only difference I can see is that they have now made it 99% natural but have messed up the scent! Sadly I would choose a nice smell over .2% more natural a product any day! So disappointing, hopefully I can still get the original somewhere!

Shopping Haul :-)

Hey Ladies!

Sorry about the pictures but my parents are away and I said they could take my camera so I have had to use my phone for this post! I went shopping in Cardiff today which is really unusual for me and I only do it about twice a year so I was excited to see what was new in the beauty section of TK Maxx since I was there last Christmas.

The only brand in my whole Haul that I have tried before is Bomb Cosmetics so I'm really looking forward to seeing what these brands are like.

I managed to spend all my money in there and got a few great sets :-)

I had this Stila set for £7.99 and it included a sharpener, lip glaze, a moisturising lip tint and lip glaze stick. I used to watch a lot of Pinkiecharm's videos on Youtube and she loves the Stila Lip Glaze so I'm really excited to try it out :-)

The top swatch in the Lip Glaze Stick in Brown Sugar, The middle swatch is the Moisturising Lip Tint in Wine and the bottom swatch is the Lip Glaze in Spiced Ginger.

These are the Essie nail polishes I managed to pick up but the names on the bottom seem to be wrong sadly.
The name on the bottom of the pink is Tangerine, and the other two say Capri, I searched for Tangerine and like I suspected they are totally opposite colours. Any help with finding out their true names from you Essie lovers out there would be amazing :-)
This set was £9.99

I also found the Color Club Set in Glitter Vixen which was £7.99 it has some amazing colours, in which I can't wait to try out!

I also bought another Bomb Cosmetics soap from a local shop :-)

There was also a lovely set there from Leighton Denny which was really pretty but I had run out of money and really wanted the Essie set  :-)

So there is my new haul, I really need to calm down with the nail polish :-)

Thanks, Linzi xx

REVIEW- The Body Shop - Wild Cherry Body Butter

Hello Ladies,

Hope your all having a great Friday and looking forward to the weekend.

Sometimes I buy a product and it takes me months to grow to love it. It could be anything, a nail polish, new pair of heels and even some body butters :-)

I love body butters, at one point The Body Shop body butters where a small obsession of mine :-)

Right now I have eight of them but at one point I did have twelve. I know.... I really am ashamed!

Just before Christmas they had one of their Secret Sales and I decided to get a few more Body Butters which at the time where down to £5 each and I also had a a voucher which gave me a certain amount off so yes a went a little crazy. I ended up buying five. Wild Cherry, Passion fruit, Almond, Brazil Nut and Blueberry.

Then all hell broke loose...I got the flu! *Pause for dramatic effect ;-)*

Like many people, some scents can really make me worse when I'm ill but sometimes it stays with me for the longest time. I still can't eat a chocolate chip muffin or have beef on my roast dinner without feeling ill :-(

So I ended up giving the Passion Fruit, Blueberry and Brazil Nut to my Nan because I just couldn't use them, they smelt terrible to me. I kept the Wild Cherry and Almond because they where the ones that I found I could cope with.

Then out of the blue I got a craving for the Wild Cherry, I was watching a haul video, sadly I can't remember who buy, where the young girl had just bought the Wild Cherry Body Butter and loved it. So I decided to give it another chance and boy am I glad I did!

To me it smells just like Cherry Bakewell's only stronger, It's that very sweet, jammy smell.

Probably not something I could wear daily like my beloved Shea Butter but definitely when I'm craving something sweet :-)

I bought it in the 200ml and they seem to last me ages :-)

At full price Body Butters are £12.50 which I find too steep so I wait for the sales, where I have actually seen them come down to just £3 each :- )

The Body Shop put their Body Butters in groups, they range from Normal Skin - Normal/Dry  - Very Dry Skin. Wild Cherry is for normal skin.

Do you love The Body Shop Body Butters? Which is your favorite scent?

Thanks,
Linzi xx

REVIEW- Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream

Hullo!

I have been trying to grow my nails for a long time now but when they reach a certain length they break easily. I have a strong feeling this may be because they are dry, so I researched online and heard about the Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream, which is not really a cream but more like a wax or balm.

The first thing I noticed about it was the smell, It smell's amazing. Just like Lemon Cheesecake.

It's non greasy and extremely moisturizing I find that it sinks into my skin in no time leaving me to do what I want without having to worry about greasy finger marks.

I have noticed my nails are more brighter and stronger than before and the skin around my nails are now soft and nourished.

I have been using it religiously for the last four days and have made a small dent in the product but I can imagine this lasting me a good 3 - 4 months before having to repurchase.

On their website its priced at £5.99 but I bought mine from Amazon at a cheaper price so go have a look.

The packaging is well made and I throw it in my handbag without worrying about it going everywhere and It's small enough to fit in your jeans pocket.  Although like most Burt's Bees products the packaging isn't the most attractive on the market but you have to look past that and focus on the product and this is definitely one I will be repurchasing!

This product is also a 100% Natural :-)

Thanks,
 Linzi xx

NOTD - Barry M Coral :-)

Hullo Ladies,

I have bought a lot of Barry M nail polishes the last few weeks so I thought I would do some NOTD's for you, using them.

This is Barry M's Coral Nail Paint, it's a very bright colour and quite orange in tone. When I think coral I usually think of peach/pink oranges but this is more of a red-orange.  It's very bright and perfect for the summer.

As you can see, one of my nails has some damage. I must have scraped it badly at some point and no polish seems to cover the indentations. Even the top coats I use see to only cover it for a short time. I recently picked up some cuticle cream from Burt's Bees which I'm hoping will help.

Oh and buy the way! Argos have sales on some of their Barry M sets, so if your looking to add to your Barry M nail paint Collection, Argos has a set of six colours on sale right now, I don't know how long it will last but it's a really great deal so go take a look! :-)

Hope your all having a good day so far!

Thanks, Linzi xx

Big Haul (Burt's Bees Grab Bag and more)

Hullo Everyone,

Here is a quick look on some of the new things I bought the last few weeks and some of them I will be reviewing in the coming weeks.

Did you hear about the Burt's Bees Grab Bag? It's a bag of goodies that they put together themselves (you don't know whats in it) and you pay £20 but infact the products are supposed to come to £55. I think it may be still going so If you want it you better get going :-)

Heres a list of what I recieved in my grab bag, If you ordered and don't want to know what your getting, skip the next bit :-) Spoiler Alert!

Milk and Honey Body Lotion (Full Size)
Honey and OrangeWax Body Lotion (Full Size)
Super Shiny Grapefruit and Sugar Beet Shampoo (sample)
Super Shiny Grapefruit and Sugar Beet Comditioner (sample)
Radiance Exfoliating Body Wash (88.7 ml)
Radiance Day Cream and Night cream (7g)
Peach and Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub (15g)
Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream(11g)
Burts Bees Rosemary Mint Shampoo Bar (22.7g)
Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers in Watermelon and Rhubarb (Full Size)
Burts Bees black Wallet

Here's what I got in my Grab Bag, I also got a Burts Bees black wallet but I forgot to put it back in the bag! I'm really happy with what I got. It's great if you are like me and have never tried their products before.

Here are the Barry M nail paints I picked up this week.

I bought this Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream before I knew about the Grab Bag,  I bought it from amazon at a really good price. I have been using it the last few day and I love it. It smells like Lemon Cheesecake :-o

If you ordered over £25 pound on the Burt's Bees website you recieved free postage, I ordered a Tin Set. Except it was not this set. :-( I ordered a set that came with a lotion, cuticle cream and one lipbalm. They still took the same amount off me but sent me this lip balm collection instead which was cheaper. I called their service line straight away and they said that they are going to contact me tomorrow. I shall inform you all on any news!

Also The Body Shop recently brought out this Beautifying Oil, you ould get it in a range of scents but I chose Satsuma which is my favourite Body Shop smell. You can use it for your body, face and hair.

So that's all those things I have bought the last few weeks.

Hope you are all well :-)

Thanks, Linzi xx

NOTD - Max Factor Fantasy Fire- Barry M Vivid purple

Hullo!
I was lucky enough to pick up a botte of Max Factor nail polish in Fantasy Fire yesterday in my local superdrug. They have £1 off some Max Factor nail polishes at the moment and Fantasy Fire was included.

Fantasy Fire is a purple duochrome colour. It is extremely eye catching and unusual.

I know its a bit blurry but I think It really shows the red that comes out in the polish.

How pretty is that? I have a feeling I will be puting Fantasy Fire over everything before long. In certain light I see green glitter and in others a lovely red and gold.

It's a very popular colour at the moment and I can see why.

On its own its very sheer and before long you have applied four coats and you still wont get the true colour of the bottle so I find its best to use this over other polishes. Like I have done with Barry M's Vivid Purple, which is also a polish I bought yesterday along with Fuchsia.

Have you tried Fantasy Fire? Love it? or hate it?

Linzi xx

Eau My Giddy God: The Body Shop: LOVE ECT...

Hullo girls,

I have just finished watching a really good movie (200 Pound Beauty- amaaaazing!) and felt like writing another blog post! So I'm writing another Eau My Giddy God post, which is all about one special perfume which I will be doing every so often. I am a massive fan of fragrances, I hate the thought of not smelling good and It's just one of those things that I first pick up on when meeting someone new, Do I recognise that scent? So today's lucky perfume is........Love ECT...by The Body Shop.
I think one of the best compliment you can give and recieve is "ohh, you smell good!" and I'm happy to say I have recieved a few of those since wearing this perfume. Which I have been wearing non stop for the last few months! I'm in love and I only payed £6! Bargain!

Love Ect is a lovely light perfume that is great for day time, it's very girly but not too immature and has quite a unique and interesting scent. I think it would be great for school or work because it's not a offending scent. It very subtle and fresh.

What The Body Shop Website says : "Our irresistible fragrance in a lasting eau de parfum: a heart-stopping fusion of jasmine, vanilla and sandalwood notes."

So If you want a clean, girly scent that is not over powering then this is perfect. It's priced at £14 on the webstie but they are always having sales on :-)

Have you tried any Body Shop perfumes?

                                                              Thanks, Linzi xx

REVIEW : NYX : Make-up Artist Kit

Hullo Ladies, this is my first NYX purchase that I found in TKMaxx last summer for £14.99. It has 36 eye shadows, 5 lipgloss' and some face and cheek colours.

This is a terrific set for those who are just starting out in makeup and want to experiment with colour, there is a range of eye shadows from soft golds too bright greens.

The following are some of the colours that I use regally from this palette.

Here are some lovely plum colours, light pinks and violet.

You are going to need a primer with these, as they are not the best eyeshadows I have tried, I find some of them quite hard to blend. Then you have some that show no colour and others that are so pigmented that you barely need to touch your brush to the produsct to pick up a good amount of colour. These NYX eye shadows seem to be hit or miss but I do not mind given the price I paid.

There are some great "nude" colours in this palette, great for summer makeup with bright lips :)

I'm very glad I picked up this palette as I have had a lot out of of it, the blushes are very pigmented and there is a lovely bronzer that is just right for my very pale skin!

I would say this is great for girls who are just starting out in makeup and want a lot of variety but do not want to break the bank :-)

Hope you all have a great Saturday!
Thanks,
 Linzi xx

Brand Review - BOMB Cosmetics

Hullo Ladies,

I am writing about a brand today, it's a brand I have been using for a few years now and its called Bomb Cosmetics. I first started using their products when I bought my nan her 60th Birthday present from them, which was a box full of chocolate scented bathroom goodies :) I bought it from amazon and when I recieved it, I went straight online and bought one for myself too. I couldn't resist that gorgeous smell. I found a local shop that sells Bomb Cosmetics, so check around to see if anyone sells them by you :).

Bath Tulip

Marmalady

£2.99 on their website.

This gently fizzes in your bath releasing a creamy foam that is full of rich shea and cocoa butter, I find that using the whole thing at one time releases to manys oils into my bath,so I break it up and use it in four or five baths, which is exactly what they say to do on their website.

Handmade Soap Slice

Go Mango

£2.49 on their website.

I come from a family that has very sensitve skin, luckily enough I can usually get away with using most products and havn't had a strong reaction to anything for awhile now. Sadly the same thing can't be said for my father and brother. They have trouble with most brands but one day they spotted a lovely looking bar of soap *my bar of soap!* in our soap dish and thought "why not?" hmph! Anyway, I have been buying them these soaps ever since, christmas, birthdays and even the odd anniversary :P these soaps are made with vegetable based glycerin and natural essential oils. They have so many soaps to choose from, from dead sea salt too lemon meringue :) which is a personal favorite!

 Bath Mallow

Orange and Cinnamon

£2.09 on their website.

Bath Mallows are full of cocoa butter and shea butter and are very creamy, they fizz very gently and I find this makes them last longer in my bath I can sometimes even use it for the next nights bath :) which is always great. Again, I sometimes find that these can be a bit oily. Especially if I have used the whole mallow on one bath but this is easy to prevent by only keeping it in for a few minutes.

Bath Brulees

Choc around the clock

£2.99 on their website.

I love getting out of the bath after I have used these products. You can just tell thats what is in them is great for your skin. You feels soft, hydrated and soothed. :-)

Tinned Candles

Orange Mai Tai

Price varies on their webite.

I only recently got into scented candles and the first one I picked up was from Bomb Cosmetics, they have a lot of differnt candles, some are in tins like this one and others are in glass. These tins are recyclable and have some of the most amazing scents. This candle claims to last to 45 - 50 hours :-)

I found out about a lot more products on their website that I didn't know they made like hair products, body lotions and even lip balms!

So have you tried anything from Bomb Cosmetics before?

Eye Looks : Pink: Easy Day time to Night time :-)

Hullo Everyone,

This is my first makeup look that I have put up on my blog so im a tad nervous!

I'm not in anyway a professional :) I just love to play around with make up!

I wanted to start with something simple so here I have done a day - night look using pink eyeshadows. I find it very hard to wear pink eyeshadow, its not a colour I gravitate towards sadly but I think it looks quite good in this look. It's deffinetly one I will be recreating again.

Day Time Look

I used the Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette.

On the lid I applied Tainted and then in the crease I added some of Junkshow.

Then I applied some Bobbi Brown long wear gel eyeliner in Espresso Ink using my Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eyeliner brush.

Then I used my Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara in Black.

           Night Time Look

Blackout From the Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette.

So to make this into a bit more of a night time look I added some of Blackout into the outer corner.

I then blended the colour and added some more of my eyeliner to get a thicker line.

I like both looks, I find that the daytime look would be great to go somewhere casual like out with friends shopping or to the cinema and I would definitely wear the night time look for a night down the pub :-)

Hope you like the look!

Thanks,
 Linzi xx

Barry M's New Nail Paint - Copper

Hullo Ladies,

A few days ago I stopped in Superdrug and noticed that Barry M had a new nail paint out, I later searched online and they seem to have a few new ones out but sadly my Superdrug doesn't have them in yet.

I am in love with Barry M nail paints and I seem to be writing about them a lot lately so maybe a break is in order, but just before I stop with the chatter on Barry M I want to show you this new colour. As you can see its a very unique and very eye catching colour. As soon as I saw it in the shop I had to buy it. My parents are going away on holiday soon and my mam wants me to paint her nails this colour before she goes so I can imagine we are going to end up sharing this one :)

It's a copper colour and when looking at the bottle closely I'm sure I see green and red shimmers running through it.

It applies really well and dried very quickly. I find that Barry M Nail paints have great lasting power, often lasting three or four days before I see any considerable wear but I applied a top coat so that it lasts just that little bit longer. :)

Have you tried any of the new Barry M Nail Paints?
